DEVASTATED TO REPORT that planning, shopping, and cooking family dinner every Sunday with my very picky daughter has transformed the way she approaches food in a total of two months. I work a lot, have a barely one-year-old, and am not so confident in the kitchen, so over my (almost six) years of being a working mom thus far, Postmates and Raos pasta sauce have done a lot of heavy lifting. But since we’ve decided to take on her picky eating more seriously, the ritual has become special to us in a very short amount of time. She went from screaming like a final girl about the wrong brand of mac n cheese to saying, “I like the pop that the onion powder brings” and eating adobo roasted chicken out of a bowl with her hands.
Also, it shan’t be discounted that I, an extremely cocky thirty-seven-year-old, am building a skill I CAN CONTINUE TO WORK ON. I usually only like to do things I’m already really good at and receive tons of praise for, so this is growth for me. Looks like both girls in this household are GROWING UP.
